VN becomes the 7th member of the CPTPP trade dealBureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs
Following approval by the National Assembly, Vietnam officially became the seventh member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) on November 12, 2018.
Vietnam’s approval of the CPTPP will enable it to reform its industries, improve its legal system, upgrade its business and investment environment, as well as increase its economic competitiveness in global markets.
However, to avoid any adverse impacts of the CPTPP on Vietnam, the government will regularly give an update on the impact assessment of the CPTPP on its overall economy and relevant sectors to formulate support measures that ensure the core interests of Vietnam.
