Taiwan's Road to TPPTWCSI

Taiwan is keen to participate in regional trade blocs, including the proposed US-led Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

TPP members including Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam would account for 40 percent of global economic output and more than a third of world trade. Taiwan, being in the center of Asia, and having close economic relationship with major TPP countries, it is important that Taiwan not be left out of this important global partnership.

Taiwan's representative to Washington, DC, Ambassdor Shen clearly stated that Taiwan hopes to be invited to take part in the next round of talks on the U.S.-initiated Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

POLITICO also interviewed Ambassdor Shen about Taiwan's efforts in trying to join TPP.

President Ma has also stated his resolution that taking part in regional integration is Taiwan's top economic priority.
