Taiwan-Japan local industrial collaboration is taking a huge step forward. TJPO and Wakayama prefecture sign MOUMOEA

In order to respond to the trend of global and regional economic integration, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has established the Taiwan Japan Industrial Collaboration Promotion Office (TJPO) as a platform for collaboration between the industries of Taiwan and Japan . The TJPO has also established a collaborative connection with 27 Japanese local governments and industrial organizations. Wakayama Prefecture is the second Japanese local government to have signed an MOU with the TJPO, following Mie Prefecture. The collaboration between the TJPO and Wakayama Prefecture is a huge step for the TJPO to work together with Japanese local industries, and it represents the fact that Japanese local governments share same collaborative vision with Taiwan as well.

Witnessed by the deputy director general of the Industrial Development Bureau, Mr. Leu Jang-Hwa, and Wakayama Prefecture Governor Mr. Nisaka, the TJPO and Wakayama Prefecture signed the MOU on February 27, 2014, in which both sides will work together on exchanges in the manufacturing industry, which. will be the priority target for collaboration. Both sides have also agreed to expand the fields of collaboration according to mutual demand.

After the MOU signing between the TJPO and Wakayama Prefecture, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan, Interchange Association Japan, TJPO, and JETRO will jointly hold the Taiwan-Japan Industrial Collaboration Seminar on March 12, 2014 in order to improve mutual understanding toward Taiwanese and Japanese industries and begin the promotion of mutual exchange activities. 

The TJPO will continuously promote the collaboration with Japans local governments and industrial organizations. Moreover, the TJPO will promote collaboration between Taiwans and Japans small and medium enterprises to accelerate the upgrading of Taiwans industrial global value chain status in the . In the future, Taiwan and Japan can work together to develop the global market.
