Inventec, III, Chunghwa Telecom join IDBs newly launched Taiwan Cloud Computing IDC Total Solutions programIndustrial Development Bureau, MOEA

The Ministry of Economic Affairs Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) launched its Taiwan Cloud Computing IDC Total Solutions program today. The program is expected to attract more and more domestic cloud computing-related enterprises to join during its three phases, thereby expanding their synergies. In the first phase, to be supported by Inventec, the Institute for Information Industry and Chunghwa Telecom, a cloud platform service will be provided for application service providers. Inventec will provide servers, storage and networks, while the III will offer CAFE cloud system software, and Chunghwa Telecom will provide Virtuoso cloud management software and IDC colocation service.

In the second phase, software as a service (SaaS) enterprises with potential to go international will be nurtured and cultivated. In addition, Taiwanese application service providers and IT vendors will be invited to migrate and operate their services on the cloud platform.

In the third phase, assistance will be provided to enterprises in expanding their business abroad, especially in Southeast Asia and Japan. The programs launch ceremony, witnessed by IDB Director General Jong-Chin Shen, marked an important moment for Taiwans cloud computing industry.

The IDB views the ceremony as a starting point in its MIT Cloud Computing IDC Solutions promotion. By having more and more cloud computing-related enterprises participate in the program and join forces to expand their international presence, the IDB expects the program to generate an additional several billion NT dollars in overseas sales over the next three years.
